Highway 102 fatality led to charges of dangerous driving causing death

Two individuals are charged with dangerous driving causing death in relation to a multi-vehicle transport truck crash in 2021.

THUNDER BAY — The court process continues for two people charged in connection with a fatal collision on Highway 102 in December 2021.

A 56-year-old truck driver from Quebec died after a collision involving his transport truck and two other tractor-trailers at the intersection with Auto Road.

A 68-year-old passenger in his truck and one of the other drivers suffered serious injuries.

Eight months later, OPP arrested and charged two people, but no news release was issued. 

TBnewswatch has now confirmed with police that a 35-year-old resident of Calgary and a 31-year-old resident of Winnipeg were charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.

Their cases are still proceeding in court, with their next dates scheduled for May and September respectively.
