Highway 102 was closed after a transport truck overturned

A cargo of floor joists spilled when the tractor-trailer went out of control, and a driver sustained minor injuries.

THUNDER BAY — Ontario Provincial Police say the driver of a tractor-trailer sustained minor injuries after the transport truck collided with a deer on Highway 102 near Thunder Bay.

The incident occurred at about 5:15 Tuesday morning near the intersection with Mud Lake Road.

It resulted in the tractor-trailer going out of control and landing on its side, spilling its cargo of floor joists.

The driver was taken to hospital for evaluation.

Highway 102 was closed for several hours before one lane was reopened to traffic.
