LUTSEN, Minn. – Lutsen Lodge has burned to the ground.

According to a release from local officials, the Cook County Dispatch was notified of a fire just after midnight on Tuesday at Lutsen Resort.

Staff reported smoke coming from the floor of the lobby area.

The building was completely engulfed.

According to a post on the Historic Lutsen Lodge Facebook page, the building was a complete loss.

“The Historic Lutsen Lodge has been taken by a devastating fire this evening. A total loss to the lodge building.”
