Hospital 50/50 draw, Catch the Ace lotteries still going strong

Deadline for first early bird draw is Thursday, United Way and Port Arthur Rotary's Catch the Ace progressive jackpot tops $12,000.

THUNDER BAY – Thursday is the deadline to qualify for the first early bird draw in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation’s monthly 50/50 draw.

It’s the first of three early bird draws, worth $2,154. The other draws will be held on July 9 and July 16. 

The jackpot, which will be drawn for on July 30, is currently worth more than $220,000. Last month’s top prize was $481,085.

Tickets are five for $10,  30 for $20, 150 for $50 and 304 for $75 and are available at www.thunderbay5050.ca.

The United Way of Thunder Bay and Port Arthur Rotary’s Catch the Ace draw is still going strong after 14 weeks, with a progressive jackpot standing at $12,915 and a weekly prize of at least $434. Tickets are 10 for $10, 60 for $20 and 200 for $40 and are available at www.tbayace.ca.

To win the progressive prize, the weekly winner must correctly choose a virtual envelope with the ace of spades inside.

Margaret Arnone is the winner of the past two draws, winning $526 in Week 12 and $424 in Week 13.

The Friends of Chippewa Park is also hosting a Catch the Ace draw, with a jackpot standing at $3,177. Money raised will help fund next year’s Family Festival, which was initially planned for this summer. The weekly jackpot is currently $54.

Tickets, which can be purchased at www.chippewa.bump505.com, are 20 for $10, 100 for $20, 300 for $50 and 500 for $80.
