THUNDER BAY - Fraudsters don't discriminate when it comes to scams.

The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation is warning of a recent scam that came to their attention.

A release from the foundation says scam phone calls have been reported to them where the fraudsters claim to represent Thunder Bay 50/50.

In the phone call, the scammers reportedly ask for credit card information to purchase tickets to the draw.

The foundation makes it clear that they will never call and ask for this information.

The scam calls reportedly come from British Columbia area codes that include 778.

If a suspected scam call is received, people are asked to report the call to the foundation immediately at 807-684-7275 and as well to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.

They remind those interested in tickets for the Thunder Bay 50/50, they can be purchased at the storefront at Intercity Mall as well as through their official website.
