Two floors of the Shoreline Motor Hotel had to be evacuated Sunday night after a fire broke out in one of the guest rooms.
Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue responded to an alarm and report of smoke on the fifth floor of the North Cumberland Street hotel just before midnight.
Four pumpers responded to the call and crew found heavy smoke on the fifth floor; they had the fire under control quickly and damage was confined to the room the blaze started in.
No one was injured.
The cause is unknown at the time and the fire is under investigation.
