THUNDER BAY – Sick of driving over a pothole in front of his driveway, tbnewswatch.com reporter Jamie Smith decided to see how long it would take to get a response from the city’s online pothole reporting service.

As it turns out, it doesn’t take that long.

Smith made a report Thursday afternoon. By Monday morning, just one-and-a-half business days after the report was made, a work crew had arrived to fill in the crater.

The online pothole reporting tool makes no promises in terms of how long it will take for a work order to be addressed. Information below the form does state that “very busy streets will be repaired sooner than those on less-travelled streets.”

Smith’s residential Westfort neighbourhood would likely fit the ‘less-travelled’ description.

Have you reported a pothole? If so, tell us what the response time was like.
