THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Fire Rescue crews battled a fully engulfed detached garage fire on Monday night.

No one was hurt in the fire, which was quickly brought under control, but a hybrid electric vehicle parked within the structure did continue to burn for quite some time despite significant amounts of water being applied.

The fire was finally extinguished about 90 minutes later.

All residents had exited the home prior to firefighters arriving on scene.

The call came in at approximately 6:48 p.m.

Six pumper crews, an aerial ladder and the platoon chief responded.
