Residents will be seeing their hydro rates going up by more than 6 per cent.
Officials with the Ontario Energy Board released their decision on the rates for Thunder Bay Hydro Friday.
Residents should expect an increase of 6.35 per cent or roughly $6.75 more to a household that uses 800kWh. Businesses received a 5.18 per cent increase.
The changes to the rates went into effect May 1.
The decision included changes to both provincial and local charges including the April 5 announcement about increases in time-of-use rates, new provincial charge for smart meter entity and one-year rate rider for disposal of old meters.
