SIOUX LOOKOUT – A call for unwanted people at a local hotel led police in Sioux Lookout to lay an impaired charge against a 47-year-old Thunder Bay woman.

OPP, in a release issued on Friday, said they arrived at the hotel on April 11, just after 11 a.m., and found an intoxicated individual in the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle.

An investigation determined the accused had been drinking alcohol and the driver subsequently failed a test administered on an approved screening device, leading to her being taken the Sioux Lookout detachment for further breath testing.

The woman was charged with operation while impaired, alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired, blood alcohol concentration 80 plus. She was issued a 90-day licence suspension and her vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused will appear in court in Kenora on June 3.
