THUNDER BAY — The Canada Games Complex's pool and track were closed Wednesday night after an incident at the facility.

Paramedics, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue and Thunder Bay Police responded to the incident, which sources have told TBNewswatch occurred in the pool area.

On Thursday, Superior North EMS Chief Shane Muir said emergency services were called for a person requiring medical assistance for a cardiac arrest.

Muir said lifeguards got the individual out of the pool and started resuscitation efforts, which were continued by paramedics.

The individual was taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Muir did not have information about the individual's condition after they arrived at the hospital.

The facility reopened to the public on Thursday.
