THUNDER BAY – The Intercity Shopping Centre is warning Canadian Lakehead Exhibition attendees not to fall for a parking scam.
The mall issued a reminder via social media on Friday that parking in its lots is free, including to those attending the CLE this weekend.
"If you encounter people trying to collect money to leave your vehicle in our parking lot while you attend the CLE, this is FALSE!" it stated on Facebook. "Please DO NOT give anyone money, you can park for free."
The mall had allowed non-profit organizations to solicit donations for parking during the CLE in past years, it noted, but is not doing so this year.
