THUNDER BAY – Joey Jeremiah and Caitlin Ryan are coming to ThunderCon 2023.
Known in real life as Pat Mastroianni and Stacie Mistysyn, the duo were part of the iconic Degrassi Junior High – later Degrassi High – cast that took Canada by storm in the 1980s, the original power couple on a show that broke new ground about teenage storytelling.
I'm excited to bring 2 of Canadian TV's Icons,” says guest lead Toller Madsen. “When you think of 80's Degrassi, you instantly think of Pat and Stacie.”
It’s long been a dream of organizers to have the pair as featured guests.
“We’ve been talking with Pat for years,” says ThunderCon media director, Heather Dickson. “But the schedules never worked out. This year, we moved our dates to earlier in September, so we were able to make it work with both Pat and Stacie.”
Degrassi Junior High, and its sequel, Degrassi High, began airing in 1987 and won eight Gemini Awards over the course of its run, including trophies to both Mastrorianni and Mistysyn.
“Stacie and I are super excited to be appearing at ThunderCon this year,” Mastroianni said in a release. “Can't wait to see all the Narbos and Broomheads. Trust me, ThundercCon is going to be a blast.”
ThunderCon will be held Sept. 9 and Sept. 10.
