FORT FRANCES – Tyler Jordan’s acquisition continues to pay dividends.

The St. Michael, Minn. native notched his second hat trick of the season, giving him 17 goals, to lead the Thunder Bay North Stars past the host Fort Frances Lakers 7-3 on Saturday night.

Edison Weeks had a pair for Thunder Bay, adding an assist, with singles going to Alex Remenda and Keagan Jones.

Clark Scaddan, Landon Lowes and Pierce Gouin replied for the Lakers, losers of nine straight. It was the third straight win for the North Stars (18-9-3).

Thunder Bay travels to Wisconsin next Friday and make their way to Fort Frances on Saturday for a rematch with the Lakers. Fort Frances hosts Red Lake next Friday.

Wisconsin 7, Kam River 5: The Lumberjacks exploded for five third-period goals, including a pair from Dillon Phillips to complete his hat trick, and Wisconsin stunned the visiting Fighting Walleye, handing them just their fifth regulation loss of 2023-24. Riley Borody scored a pair in the final three minutes of regulation to pull Kam River within a pair.

Dryden 1, Red Lake 0: The Ice Dogs got back in the win column thanks to a 28-save shutout from goaltender Ewan Souter, his third of the campaign, tying him for the league lead with Sioux Lookout’s Matthew Spencer-Dahl and Kam River’s Ashton Sadauskas. Sean Smith’s second-period goal on Red Lake goaltender Noah Davis proved to be the winner.

Sioux Lookout 6, Kenora 1: Five different goal scorers lit the lamp as the streaking Bombers captured their 12th in a row, handing the Islanders their 25th straight defeat. Connor Burke, Dayvan Bull and Tait Howell staked the Bombers to a 3-0 lead after one. Owen Riffel picked up an assist on Bull's marker, stretching his point streak to 12 games.
