THUNDER BAY - The live screening of a performance by Canadian band, July Talk, has been postponed to later this month due to weather.

Interstellar Outdoor Cinema planned to host the drive-in screening on its inflatable screen in the Intercity Shopping Centre parking lot on Saturday night.

The event was in support of Dennis Franklin Cromarty High School providing online learning to students in Northern Ontario First Nations.

“We can control a lot of things, but unfortunately not the weather,” Interstellar Outdoor Cinema said in a release. “Due to the upcoming rain in the forecast and logistics for the event, the July Talk Live at the Drive-In Screening has been postponed to Friday, September 25 at 8:00 p.m.”

Environment Canada is calling for a 90 per cent chance of rain on Saturday, with 10 millimetres of precipitation expected.

The concert that was to be screened was recorded at the Stardust Drive-In Theatre in Sharon, Ont. earlier this month.

July Talk previously performed at the inaugural Wake the Giant Music Festival, which has been postponed this year due to COVID-19.

“Thank you to those who have supported this event, Wake the Giant and their efforts to support DFC in providing education to students in Northern communities during the pandemic,” the Interstellar Outdoor Cinema statement reads. “We cannot wait to screen the July Talk concert later this month at our Intercity location.”
