Kenora resident charged after more than $46K worth of cocaine seized at traffic stop

A 29-year-old Kenora resident has been charged with various drug-related offences following a traffic stop on Thursday.

KENORA — A traffic stop conducted by Kenora Ontario Provincial Police on Thursday has resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old Kenora resident.

In a news release issued on Friday, Feb. 19, Kenora OPP say a traffic stop was conducted on a white pickup truck on Highway 17 at Reddit Road.

The driver was arrested and a search of the vehicle led officers to seize a large amount of cocaine with an approximate street value of more than $46,000, $480 in cash and a white pickup as proceeds of crime.

The accused was charged with possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused was released and has a future court date in Kenora Provincial Court to answer to the charges. 

Police state they cannot release the name of the accused or court date as the investigation is currently ongoing.
