(KENORA, ON) –Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Kenora woman following a weekend incident in downtown Kenora.
Just before 10:30 pm on Saturday May 21, 2016 the Kenora OPP were notified of a robbery with a weapon that had just occurred outside a restaurant in downtown Kenora. Police located a subject matching the description of the suspect in the area of the reported robbery.
The female was approached by police and in the course of the arrest, a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) was deployed. The subject was uninjured.
As a result of this investigation, 22 year old Jordie STRANG of Kenora has been charged with Robbery with a Weapon contrary to section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on May 25, 2016.
