LOS ANGELES – Thunder Bay’s Carter George is getting a taste of the American Hockey League.

The Owen Sound Attack goaltender on Monday was reassigned by the Los Angeles Kings to the AHL’s Ontario Reign, following an Ontario Hockey League season that saw him post a .909 save percentage in 47 regular-season appearances.

George signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Kings last July after being drafted in the second round, 57th overall, by the NHL team.

The 18-year-old, who also starred for Team Canada at the most recent World Junior Hockey Championship, participated in the Kings' 2024 Rookie Faceoff in Los Angeles and made his NHL preseason debut during L.A.’s training camp.

George is expected to wear No. 70 with the Reign, who return to action on Friday against the San Jose Barracuda.
