THUNDER BAY – Lakehead’s strong start to the 2024-25 men’s basketball season continues to roll on.

Adrian Nowak scored 22 off the bench to lead the T-Wolves in scoring on Friday night, but more importantly helped power them to a third straight win to open the season, downing the usually potent McMaster Marauders 91-76 at the Thunderdome.

Harold Santacruz poured in 21 points and Nathan Bilamu added 19 to help Lakehead stay on top of the OUA Central, the Wolves and 1-0 Brock Badgers the only two teams in the division without a loss.

Lakehead led by four at halftime and outscored McMaster 27-17 in the third to pull away. A.Y. Osunde led the Marauders with 14 points off the bench. Starters Mike Demagus and Elijah Bethune each had 11 for McMaster, off to an 0-3 start, last in the Central.

Lakehead and McMaster will meet again on Saturday night. Tip-off is 8 p.m.
