THUNDER BAY — Trustees of the Lakehead District School Board have ratified memorandums of settlement for new collective agreements with two employee groups.

One deal is with the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation representing the District 6A Student Support Professionals bargaining unit, comprised of staff who work both in elementary and high schools.

The other agreement is with the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario, Lakehead Elementary Teachers local bargaining unit.

LETO members ratified their contract last week

Each of the agreements is for four years.

Board chair Ellen Chambers said the deals reflect "the collaborative working relationship between the board and unions."

Unresolved compensation and salary issues for each group are still being finalized province-wide through arbitration.
