Laundry pods recalled due to packaging error

THUNDER BAY – Canadians are being advised to check their laundry products after a recall of certain brands of laundry pods.

A number of liquid laundry pod brands under the umbrella corporation of Proctor and Gamble have been recalled over potential damage to child-resistant packaging.

Health Canada stated in the recall that the product’s packaging has the potential to be affected by a manufacturing defect that renders the child-resistant packaging damaged or inoperable which could result in unintentional exposure to these products and lead to serious illness or injury.

The products include Gain Flings Moonlight Breeze; 16 pacs bag, Tide PODS 3-in-1 Clean Breeze; 31 pacs bag, Tide PODS 3-in-1, Spring Meadow; 31 pacs bag, Tide PODS 4-in-1 with Ultra Oxi; 15 pacs bag, and Tide Simply PODS Oxi Boost + Ultra Stain Release, Refreshing Breeze; 13 pacs bag.

Consumers are advised to immediately secure any recalled products out of sight and reach of children and contact Proctor and Gamble. Impacted customers will be provided with a pre-paid gift card, a cabinet latch, and an empty replacement bag with a child-resistant closure.

Consumers are required provide a photo of the barcode and the lot number, which can be found on the bottom of the bag.
