OLIVER PAIPOONGE – The Thunder Bay North Stars are for real.

The streaking Superior International Junior Hockey League club won its eighth straight game on Saturday night at Norwest Arena, riding a 27-save shutout performance from Ben Laurette to complete a weekend sweep of the Kam River Fighting Walleye with a 4-0 triumph.

Tyler Jordan scored twice, giving him 10 goals in 10 games as the Stars improved to 8-2-0. Evan Simeoni, with the lone goal of the first, and Easton Glousher, with the only goal of the third, also scored for Thunder Bay.

The loss dropped the Fighting Walleye back to .500 on the season, with a 5-5-0 record.

Thunder Bay hosts the Ironwood Lumberjacks on Tuesday night at Fort William Gardens, while the Fighting Walleye travel to Red Lake on Friday for their next game.
