THUNDER BAY – Details about a tentative settlement were communicated to the striking OPSEU members Friday evening – with a vote to ratify it taking place over the weekend.
This comes after a deal was announced earlier on Friday but the LCBO was refusing to sign a return-to-work agreement.
An OPSEU media release said the tentative deal provides exactly what they were asking for: protects good jobs and public revenues, and creates more permanent jobs with benefits and guaranteed hours.
In the coming days, the people of Ontario should once again be able to shop at the LCBO knowing their purchases are "actually an investment into the very public services Ford is hell-bent on slashing," the release said.
“We maintain our vision to continue growing the LCBO, improving working conditions for our members, and focusing on its long-term viability.
“If ratified, all our members will look forward to returning to work. We have missed our customers and communities.”
