THUNDER BAY — The Thunder Bay Public Library (TBPL) has announced changes to its upcoming winter programming.
This season, the TBPL will introduce extended hours and new Sunday events to enhance access and engagement by making it more convenient for residents to take advantage of its free programs and resources.
The branches will hold various free events and activities for all ages from January to March.
“The winter season at TBPL is all about providing meaningful and creative indoor activities during the colder months,” said Ruth Hamlin-Douglas, the head librarian.
“With Sunday programming and a full slate of PA Day and March Break programming, we are offering more opportunities than ever for residents to connect, learn and play.”
Some of these events and activities include:
- Children’s story time and play days, offering engaging literacy activities and sensory play time for young kids and their caregivers.
- Crafting and creative programs, ranging from beading and luminary-making to story time and crafting with Thunder Bay Drag Queens.
- Teen programs, including interactive gaming nights and Youth Action Council initiatives to encourage leadership and creativity. It will also have volunteer opportunities for teens.
- And adult programs, including book clubs, technology workshops and a monthly, adults-only crafting series.
Residents can learn more about the winter programming schedule on the library's website or pick up a copy of the Connect Newsletter at any branch.
