Lincoln Street incident leads to assault and weapons charges

One person was assaulted with a firearm early Monday

THUNDER BAY — The Thunder Bay Police Service has arrested a suspect in connection with a violent incident at the McIvor Court apartment complex at 1100 Lincoln Street.

Officers were dispatched to the building shortly before 6:30 a.m. Monday after TBPS received reports of a weapons incident.

A male had been seen with a firearm, and had allegedly used it to assault one person.

Police located a suspect in the area and took him into custody.

A 41-year-old man is charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and two counts of breach of probation.

He's been remanded into custody with a date for his next appearance in court.
