TORONTO – The York Lions may only have five wins on the season, but they played like a 10-win team on Saturday night.

The Lions won all four quarters and handily beat the visiting Lakehead Thunderwolves, riding Kiara Leveridge’s 21-point, 10-rebound night to a 73-54 triumph, sending LU to its seventh loss in eight outings.

Ally Burke led the T-Wolves with 18 points, but only managed two points in the second half as the Lions pulled away, outscoring Lakehead 35-27 after the break. They led 38-27 at the half.

Lakehead heads to Brock next weekend for a pair against the 11-5 Badgers.
