THUNDER BAY — The 2023 edition of the city's popular summertime concert series Live on the Waterfront kicks off Wednesday evening at Marina Park.

Performers for opening night include Katherine Nemec, Luke Warm & the Cold Ones, and Terra Lightfoot.

"We can't wait for the stage to come alive this summer with amazing local and Canadian talent," said Louisa Costanzo, the city's supervisor of cultural development, community programming and events.

The festival takes place every Wednesday until the end of August from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This season's series will conclude with a two-day summer send-off on August 30 and 31.

Live on the Waterfront has been listed in the Top 100 Festivals & Events in Ontario.

The city promotes it as being not just about music and a platform to support local artists, but also as an opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate Thunder Bay's vibrant culture.

Organizers and attendees will hope the weather forecast that currently calls for possible showers and the risk of a thunderstorm Wednesday evening proves to be off the mark.

More information on the concert series including the complete summer schedule is available at www.thunderbay.ca/events.
