THUNDER BAY -- The annual Easter Eggstravaganza had five-year-old Gemma Fudge hopping with the rabbits.
Fudge joined hundreds of other Easter enthusiasts on Saturday to participate in Easter activities throughout the Waterfront District.
"I made a craft and I went to see the bunnies," Fudge said after having her face painted at the Waverley Resource Library.
"They were really cute."
Fudge wished she could bring the rabbits home from Ashley's Little Rabbitry at the Prince Arthur Hotel but she settled for petting them instead, which turned out to be her favourite part.
"I'm looking forward to the Easter egg hunt the most," she added as she patiently waited for the hunt to begin. Four-thousand eggs were hidden in 17 of the area's local businesses for youngsters to find.
Waterfront District BIA coordinator Donna Lee Morettin said getting everybody downtown is what Easter Eggstravaganza is all about.
"Our mandate as the BIA is to bring people downtown," Morettin said.
"The best thing we can do is bring families down to have a really good time,"
