THUNDER BAY — Hundreds of workers at the local Alstom plant have a new contract.
Members of Unifor Local 1075 voted Thursday to ratify the tentative three-year agreement, which includes total wage increases of 9.4 per cent during the deal.
Unifor Local 1075 president Justin Roberts said the membership voted 85 per cent in favour of the agreement.
Roberts said the contract also includes improvements for pensions and benefits.
The union currently represents about 300 employees at the plant, who are working on a Toronto streetcar contract and refurbishing Metrolinx Go Train cars.
