THUNDER BAY – A local family will be appearing on screen Monday to compete in the much-loved game show, Family Feud.

A team consisting of five Verescak cousins from Thunder Bay were brought down to Toronto a few months ago to compete on Family Feud. Their episode is set to run on Monday evening and one of the team members, Nancy Murray, was looking forward to sharing the experience with the rest of her family and friends.

“Oh my God. It was so exciting. I made a video and submitted it and when we actually got the call that we made it, we were so excited, so pumped,” she said.

Another of the team members, Michelle Pizzi, said that it was fun being on a TVshow - but the best part was getting to go on a trip as a family.

“Normally, us cousins don't get that time to spend with each other. So it was really great to have that opportunity to make some great memories, be on a TV show and actually see how a TV show was run from behind the scenes,” she said. “And there's so many different operations that all have to come together in order to make it successful.”

Michelle’s daughter, Britni Parnell, also went and competed with her family and said the whole experience was really exciting.

“[It was] also really nerve wracking just to see what would happen and just to see all of us getting together,” she said. “It's not always normal with us, but it was just exciting to see what we can come up with.”

The Verescak cousins’ episode airs Monday at 7:30 p.m. on CBC.
