THUNDER BAY — City police say a Thunder Bay man is facing multiple counts related to child pornography, the result of an investigation by the service’s cyber crimes unit.

In a release issued on Tuesday, police say they learned on May 1 about a possible local internet user suspected of uploading files consistent with child exploitation on social media.

Police identified the suspect and his address and on May 10, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of Halton Street, seizing a number of electronic devices as a result.

The accused turned himself into police on Tuesday.

William Joseph Daniel Hubbard, 35, faces charges of possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography and accessing child pornography.

Hubbard appeared in court on Tuesday and has been remanded into custody with a future appearance date.

The charges have yet to be tested in court.
