It’s not the Batmobile, it’s the code:mobile!
Nor’wester View Public School students had the opportunity to learn beginner-friendly computer programming and other technical skills in a social and collaborative way through the Ladies Learning Code’s code:mobile!
Nor’wester View Public School was one stop on a 35,000 km journey with a mission to teach over 10,000 kids how to code.
“This unique program encourages students to be passionate builders, not just technology consumers” says Erin Aylward, Principal of Nor’wester View Public School.
“The code:mobile is like a computer lab on wheels. We are excited to be able to provide this opportunity for our students.”
Ladies Learning Code is a Canada-wide not-for-profit organization that runs workshops for women and youth who want to learn beginner-friendly computer programming and other technical skills in a social and collaborative way.
As of Friday they had 22 chapters (and counting) across Canada, a thriving girls' program called Girls Learning Code and co-ed kids program called Kids Learning Code and a big goal to teach 200,000 Canadian women and youth to code by 2020.
