THUNDER BAY – Veteran Affairs offices in this city will likely re-open in 2016.
The Thunder Bay location was one of nine closed by the previous Conservative-led federal government.
Minister of Veterans Affairs Kent Hehr did not give a specific timeline for the office’s re-opening, but did confirm it would take place at some point in 2016.
The office closed in Thunder Bay was located on Red River Road, and its closure was met with vocal opposition.
The Royal Canadian Legion, led by Thunder Bay’s Roy Lamore, led much of that opposition.
