London woman charged with impaired driving

OLIVER PAIPOONGE, Ont. – A London woman faces impaired and dangerous driving charges after a collision in the Oliver Paipoonge area on Tuesday.

Officers with the OPP’s Thunder Bay detachment responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 130, just east of Highway 11/17 around 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

No injuries were reported as a result of the collision, the OPP said.

According to an OPP release, officers determined the driver of the vehicle had been impaired by alcohol and subsequently arrested her and brought her to the Thunder Bay OPP detachment for further testing.

A 27-year-old London woman is charged with operation while impaired, dangerous operation, and failure or refusal to comply with demand.

The woman has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on Feb. 20, 2024.
