THUNDER BAY -- People in Thunder Bay love cars.
It’s been proven through various measures, and Saturday’s Fat Guys car show was the latest example.
Angela Cadorin, finance director at Fat Guys Auto Parts said over 1,000 people walked through the lot to check out the wheels on Saturday.
There were over 250 cars registered in the 7th annual show.
“This event is just about providing something for car enthusiasts in the community,” she said.
“It’s just about giving back to the community, we’ve done really well here at Fat Guys and we’re appreciative and want to give back.”
Saturday’s event featured vendors from local businesses.
“I think maybe it’s a smaller town thing,” Cadorin said on the appeal of cars in Thunder Bay.
“I think it’s partly with our long winters,” John McGregor said.
McGregor, who turned the shell of a 1959 Ford Retractable into a bright red ride, said there’s a lot of like-minded people in the area.
“People can shack up indoors and work on their cars… get them ready for the summer,” he said. “It’s in our blood, there’s a lot of mechanical people here.”
