THUNDER BAY — Fans of live theatre will be treated to four productions at Magnus Theatre during the upcoming season.
Magnus has released this year's lineup in conjunction with an offer of season subscriptions, which went on sale Monday.
The first play on the schedule is "Gaslight," based on the 1938 melodrama by British playwright Patrick Hamilton.
It opens on Sept. 26 and will run through Oct. 12.
The musical "Elf" will be performed Nov. 8 to Dec. 21.
In the new year, Magnus will produce a comedy, Mark Crawford's "The New Canadian Curling Club," with performances scheduled for Feb. 20 to March 8.
The season winds up in April with "Women of the Fur Trade," a historical satire by Frances Koncan.
Magnus's Flexi-Four pass goes on sale next week, while single-play tickets will be available the following week.
Northwestern Ontario's only professional theatre company typically produces six plays each season, but because of ongoing construction for the Next Stage project, it's only putting on four for the second year in a row.
Construction is now expected to be completed sometime this fall.
