THUNDER BAY -- A child pornography investigation has led to the arrest of a Thunder Bay resident.

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service Cyber Crime Unit began an investigation in August after receiving information that a local internet user was suspected of uploading material consistent with child pornography.

With the assistance of the Community Oriented Response and Engagement (CORE) Unit, a search warrant was executed at a Walnut Street residence on Thursday morning.

A suspect was located and arrested. Multiple electronic devices have been seized for further examination.

A 54-year-old male is charged with possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography.

The accused has been remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
