THUNDER BAY - A Thunder Bay man facing a murder charge in connection with the death of a B.C. man made an audio appearance before a justice of the peace on Friday afternoon.
Denis Terry Bernard, 36, appeared before Justice of the Peace Marcel Donio and will participate in his next court appearance on June 17.
Bernard is represented by defence counsel Tyler Woods.
Bernard is one of three people facing charges of second-degree murder in connection to a homicide that left 29-year-old Paul Vivier dead at the Midtown Inn on May 30.
His co-accused, Seandi Clarke-Noel, 19, and a 16-year-old Toronto male each face one count of second-degree murder for their alleged roles in Vivier’s death.
A court-ordered publication ban is in place which prevents the publication of evidence discussed at Bernard’s court appearance.
Thunder Bay police services were called to the Midtown Inn on Saturday, May 30, after receiving reports of a person in medical distress. Paramedics and police performed first aid, but the victim later died in hospital.
