Man charged with second-degree murder in Kenora

KENORA -- Ontario Provincial Police have arrested a 35-year-old man and charged him with second degree murder in conjunction with the death of a 62-year-old woman in Kenora.

Police, in a release issued on Thursday, said they were called to a Mikado Avenue residence in the Northwestern Ontario community on July 30, where they found the victim deceased. She's since been identified as Christine Wright of Kenora.

On Thursday OPP announced they have arrested 35-year-old Paul Leroux of Kenora and charged him with one count of second degree murder in the case.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on Friday.
The OPP investigation continues, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner.
