SHUNIAH — A 31-year-old North York, Ont. man has died as a result of a collision involving a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle.
The tragic incident occurred on Friday, just after 5:30 p.m., near Superior Shores Road and closed a section of Highway 11/17 overnight while the investigation was carried out.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Nipigon and Thunder Bay OPP responded to the scene along with the Shuniah Volunteer Fire Department.
Police are asking the public if there is any information or dashcam footage from this event, and are urged to contact the Thunder Bay OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
