Man grabs for officer's gun, injures two officers during arrest

THUNDER BAY – A 40-year-old man faces multiple charges, accused to trying to disarm a police officer, while injuring two others while resisting arrest.

Thunder Bay Police, in a release issued on Thursday, said they were dispatched to an address in the 100 block of Syndicate Avenue South to arrest an individual wanted on a warrant.

Upon arrival, the accused attempted to flee police, but was quickly captured. The man attempted to grab at an officer’s firearm and assaulted three officers while they attempted to place the accused into custody.

Two officers suffered injuries as a result.

The accused, Timothy Dominic Brisard, has been charged with three counts of assault of a peace officer, obstructing a police officer and disarming a police officer.

The accused made a court appearance on Wednesday and was held in custody to await a future court date.
