A Thunder Bay man charged in a 2007 homicide found out Tuesday he will stand trial on the charges.
A preliminary hearing for 22-year-old Mervin Spence concluded at the Ontario Court of Justice. Spence walked out of the courthouse Tuesday after learning his fate, surrounded by family members.
He was charged with manslaughter in September 2008 in connection with the death of 44 year-old Scott Roger James.
The victim was found collapsed outside a Simpson Street bar on Dec. 13, 2007 and died later that day in hospital.
Spence will remain free on bail, after being released on a $15,000 bond.
He will be back in court on Friday to set his trial date.
