THUNDER BAY — The fast food chicken game has some renewed competition in the city.
Mary Brown's Chicken opened the doors to their Thunder Bay location on Arthur Street on Tuesday, following a soft launch in the previous days.
Mary Brown's Chicken district manager Dave Petrishen said the new restaurant continues the brand's history in the city.
"This is a great moment for Thunder Bay," Petrishen said. "So many people have so many memories of Mary Brown's because we were here in the past."
Petrishen said the location in front of Arthur Street Marketplace officers an availability of space and proximity to residential neighbourhoods, while also being close to the airport and hotels.
"It's an exciting place," he said.
Petrishen said Mary Brown's Chicken is a Canadian chain, which started in 1969 in St. John's, N.L.
The Thunder Bay location has more than 50 employees, he added.
