THUNDER BAY - A 19-year-old Toronto man accused of killing another man in a drug-related incident in Thunder Bay has been found fit to stand trial.
On Wednesday, July 29, court heard the findings of a 10-day psychiatric assessment which declared Terrell Williams fit to stand trial. His lawyer, Chris Murphy, had requested his client undergo a psychiatric assessment on July 22.
Williams is charged with first-degree murder alongside his co-accused, Trayvon Stewart, 19, of Toronto in connection with the death of 28-year-old Adrian Kadeem Drysdale.
Thunder Bay police were called to a residential address just after 2:30 a.m. on March 23 to the 500 block of May Street North where they found an adult male with significant injuries.
The victim later died of his injuries in hospital. Police determined a firearm was involved in the incident.
Both murder suspects were arrested separately in Toronto and Timmins in June after both men were wanted in connection with the March homicide.
Police said both men fled the city hours after their alleged role in the killing in hopes of avoiding arrest.
Williams will return to court in August.
