McKellar Bridge closing overnight on Sunday for repair work

Bridge will not be open to motorists, cyclists or pedestrians during the estimated eight-hour closure.

THUNDER BAY – City officials have issued a traffic warning to residents, noting McKellar Bridge will be closed overnight on Sunday.

The closure, scheduled from 8 p.m. on Sunday to 4 a.m. on Monday, is necessary to complete construction work on the bridge. The bridge will not be open to motorists, pedestrians or cyclists at this time and residents are urged to plan ahead to avoid be stuck and not being able to travel to and from the island.

The bridge was also closed overnight on Thursday.
