THUNDER BAY – One of Thunder Bay’s busiest arteries has been reopened after more than five weeks of road work.
Memorial Avenue was fully reopened to traffic on Tuesday afternoon, the City of Thunder Bay said.
The route had been reduced to one lane in each direction between Central Avenue and Second Avenue as crews completed asphalt resurfacing meant to extend the lifetime of the roadway.
Some line painting on that stretch has been delayed due to equipment problems, the city said.
Once the equipment is fixed, crews will return along with partial lane closures. The city could not yet estimate when that will occur.
