Michano re-elected chief in Pic River First Nation

PIC RIVER FIRST NATION -- Duncan Michano has been re-elected as chief of Pic River First Nation. 

Michano won in a landslide over Riley Kucheran, earning 285 of the 337 votes cast in the community, also known as Biigtigong Nishnaabeg, which is located near Marathon, Ont. 

The community also announced the election of 11 members of council: Leah Michano, Donald Michano, Sharon Ostberg, Louis Nabigon, Joe Moses, Garland Moses, Randal Courchene, Erin Shaw, Simone Desmoulin, Donavan Crosson and Bonnie Goodchild. 

Elections in the community are held every two years.
