An Ontario ministry has ordered a mining company operating about 650 kilometers northwest of Thunder Bay to pay $50,000.
Goldcorp Canada was fined following a Ministry of Labour investigation into a safety violation.
The investigation found that a worker at the Musselwhite Mine was not fully trained for work in a hard rock underground mine.
The investigation began in November of 2009.
