THUNDER BAY -- The company that owns the Mac's convenience store chain in Canada has reached a deal to buy Minnesota-based Holiday Stationstores, Inc.
Quebec-based Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. will acquire more than 500 Holiday gas station/convenience store locations.
Holiday was founded in 1928 and operates in 10 states with almost 6,000 employees.
Couche-Tard, which is French for "night owl," already owns 14,000 stores in North America and Europe
It previously announced plans to re-brand Mac's outlets as Circle K.
