Motorist charged after collision with school bus

THUNDER BAY — Police have charged a motorist in connection with a collision with a school bus in Thunder Bay this week.

A compact car struck the rear of the bus as it was transporting children on John Street Road at Mercier Street on Monday morning.

The Thunder Bay Police service said 14 students on the bus were assessed by paramedics for potential injuries, but no one required treatment in hospital.

Another bus was brought to the scene to take the students to school.

The 50-year-old driver of the car has been charged with careless driving.
